Zonte starts Phase II Program at Wings Point Gold Project and files initial 43-101 on SEDAR

August 09, 2012                                                                                                  TSXV – ZON

Zonte Metals Inc (TSXV-ZON) (the “Corporation” or “Zonte”) is pleased to provide an update on the Wings Point project.

Phase II at the Wings Point Gold Project has commenced and will consist of approximately 50 line kilometres of induced polarization (IP) and magnetic surveys. The line cutting crews are nearly complete and the geophysical crew is being mobilized and expected to start surveying in one week. The program will be carried out over eight different grids throughout the project, targeting areas of interest that have been generated from Zonte’s exploration work as well as compiled historic datasets.

The most advanced target on the Wings Point project is called the Pit Target and is characterized by two undrilled geophysical targets coincident with bedrock gold mineralization partially exposed in an operating gravel pit. The present geophysical program will include additional surveying on the Pit Target to reduce the present line spacing of 200 metres down to 100 metres. A recently completed, and now filed on SEDAR, National Instrument 43-101 technical report on the Wings Point Property recommended infilling previously completed survey to reduce the line spacing from 200 to 100 metres before the targets are drilled.

The Pit Target area is characterized by two large geophysical anomalies, named the Western and Eastern, with coincident gold in bedrock mineralization. At the Western Geophysical Anomaly the IP signature is 1200 metres in length and up to 150 metres wide, while the Eastern Geophysical Anomaly is 600 to 700 metres in length and 70 to 100 metres wide. Based on the geophysical data set both anomalies sit in the sub-surface with the Western Geophysical Anomaly potentially sub-cropping in places. The exploration model Zonte is working with is; the mineralization sitting above the anomalies at surface is potentially the result of mineralizing fluid migration through the more porous units from the targets below. A third anomaly, which is parallel, adjacent and similar in size to the Eastern Geophysical Anomaly is defined by soil geochemistry. Gold in bedrock mineralization has also been identified coincident with this target.

The Corporation will provide an update on the survey and results once the program has been completed and the data has been interpreted.
